The Benefits Of Ceramic Window Tint

By Aimee Schwartz

There are many types of tints that can be used on the interior surfaces of glass windows. They can be applied to the windows of homes, office buildings and vehicles. This is done for a variety of reasons, including reducing heat and glare, privacy, protection against ultraviolet filtration and even for decorative purposes. Modern technology has resulted in the creation of a ceramic window tint that is more expensive than some of the other options but has many advantages.

Nano-technology is used in creating this product which means that particles are extremely fine and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The fact that it does not contain any metal or dye distinguishes it from other products and gives it certain advantageous qualities. For example, products containing metal may interfere with radio signals whereas a non-metallic one allows them to pass right through.

One of the advantages of using ceramic material is that it is non-reflective. This means that visibility is clearer and there is less glare. Its non-reflective quality also means that the appearance is not shiny such as when metal is used and the glass does not appear much darker than before the film was applied. All states have regulations regarding the tints used on windows of vehicles and installers should be aware of these.

One of the main reasons for installing tints in vehicles is to keep the interior cool on hot days. The film blocks out visual and infrared rays and certain products are better at doing this than others. Some block the rays very effectively, keeping the interior comfortably cool at all times. In homes, buildings and vehicles this can reduce the need for air-conditioning.

Consciousness about the damage that can be caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation has increased over the years. These UV rays have been proved to cause damage to skin. They also cause fading of fabrics and even leather seats and dashboards are affected. For protection against this kind of damage, the more UV rays blocked out, the better.

Going with a higher quality product that costs more is usually a better decision. Inferior products can cause problems like cracking, fading, bubbling, discoloring and peeling. This is even more likely if you install it yourself instead of using a trained installer with plenty of experience.

These high quality products obviously cost more. However, this extra expense is often far outweighed by the benefits. They have more strength and are even able to hold shattered glass together, making them safer than those of inferior quality. They last much longer and they are also far more efficient.

It is possible for anyone to install these tints. However, installation can be tricky and having them installed by a well trained technician is preferable. One can choose from a wide variety of tints in all kinds of thickness, colors and grades. Choice will depend on the purpose for which tints are being used and some offer much more privacy, heat reduction, UV protection, safety and efficiency than others.
