By Lena Stephenson

Infants need to make some movements. Similar as to what adults do, the little angels also need to exercise their muscles in order to train them and be healthy as well. Dexterity is known to be the coordination of small muscle movements. It involves the synchronization of hands and fingers of the baby.

Fine motor skill truly helps in the growth of the intelligence. Aside from that, it also helps in the human development. It does not only focus on hand and finger movement but of the eye coordination as well. At such a young age, babies must be involved with simple activities so their muscles will be exercised until they will get used to it. Here are some fine motor activities for infants that every parent will surely love.

Whatever things that your baby wants to do can already benefit him so much. Even by just simply touching a certain object, that thing can already be considered as an exercise. There are various ways that a parent can do to help in the advencement of the child.

Rattles and teethers are a great help in this exercise. You can use it by allowing your kid to bang it together and shake it. You may also teach him to reach for it. Just make it sure that the rattle is audible enough and the teether is colorful enough. You need baby things that can fully attract him.

The seat can also do the job. You just allow your kid to bang his tiny hands on the chair and that already helps in the development of his hands and arms. Hammer toys are also suited in here since it can assure him not just to have fun but to train his arm muscles as well.

By simply rocking back and forth, the hand of your child is developed. Aside from that, it is also an activity that can strengthen his shoulders, hips and even the trunk muscles. It also helps in lengthening the tissues of his palms and fingers.

Finger feeding is also a great help in here. Just by the help of your hand, a tasty looking colorful cereal can really entice his eyes. It is also a great pastime for you and your kid. All you need to do is just to put a piece of cereal on an empty bowl and allow your kid to grasp a piece of it. This will ultimately aid in the exercise of his fingers, hand and arm muscles.

Babies always want to play. Whatever stuff they may get a hold of will be thrown right away. That is one important exercise for your kid. Allow him to grasp the objects as he will only have to throw it away. When he finds out that he have done it then he will get the object again and throw it again. By just getting the object, the knee of your baby is already trained in here. His arms are also developed.

Lastly is flipping of pages. Show to your child a colorful book and allow him to flick the pages. Just make it definite that the book he is holding is not important as he may crumple it. Allow him to exercise his fingers and hands by flipping the pages. He will then learn how to move his hands and fingers. Aside from that, eye motion is also involved in here.
