Some of those that you need are a fire extinguisher, pepper spray, and at a minimum a three day supply of food. Flashlights, batteries, radio, bedding, fuel, stove that is powered by gas, toilet supplies, and even first aid kits.
While you could think that most of these items are going to be used for your home, you should note that you can use these at any point in time. Then you can travel and know that you will be safe or any trip that you decide to take.
